Rachel Slater

Rachel Slater is a dancer, choreographer and teacher in Portland, Oregon. She holds a BFA from the University of the Arts in Modern Dance Performance. In Portland she has performed for Tracey Durbin, Carla Mann, Franco Nieto of NW Dance Project,Tere Mathern, and Sara Parker, among others. Rachel's previous work included performance engagements across the U.S. and Southern France.

She has co-founded and directed Rachel Slater Dance, Pink Hair Affair and currently, Muddy Feet Contemporary Dance. Her choreography has been presented in Philadelphia, New York, Seattle, San Francisco and Portland. 

Rachel currently teaches for BodyVox Dance Center and Jefferson High School's Dance Department. Previous guest teaching includes time with Northwest Dance Project, Pacific University, Portland Community College, Reed University and A-WOL Dance Collective. Rachel was a New Expressive Works Resident in 2013, and a 2014 recipient of the Oregon Arts Commission Career Opportunity Grant.
