Under the scope of modern/contemporary dance, Dance Lab questions, deepens, experiments with and adapts the parameters of form. Through this practice, class emphasizes dynamic energy, whole bodied movement and an integrated approach to well-being (dance for life!). Personal boundaries of technical range are challenged as class material experiments with the effects of gravity, effort, and ease. In this class, there is a strong emphasis on the three dimensionality of the body, the expressivity of the spine, and the relationship between the center core and outer periphery. Additionally, risk-taking, personal voice, and self-development are celebrated.
