Oregon's premiere Dance Film Festival returns! Presented by BodyVox, the Contact Dance Film Festival features three different programs. These include both short and feature-length films from around the world as well as here in Portland. The Contact Dance Film Festival will also feature the premiere of a new BodyVox film.

BodyVox co-artistic director Jamey Hampton has curated a collection of recent films that combine fresh emerging voices with seasoned artists speaking with authority. Ranging from absurdly humorous to raw and human, all represent reality altered through the unexpected: a sense of transformation and evolution, a destruction of the inevitable. The program includes Creatures, Daria Lippi, France; T.I.A. (This is Africa), Matthieu Maunier-Rossi;  Islander, Derek Pedros, Canary Islands Spain; Encontro, Hannah Van den Bulck, Antwerp Belgium; Late Night Stack, Amanda Rose, USA; Unfolding, Dylan Wilbur, Muddy Feet Contemporary Dance and Sub Rosa; Les Sirènes – Chant XII, Philippe Saire, director, Switzerland, and many more gems.

Curated by graduate students of frequent BodyVox collaborator and Ohio State University Department Dance professor Mitchell Rose, Dance@30FPS (frames per second) is a vibrant selection of recent works born of the marriage between dancer and filmmaker. About The Contact Dance Film Festival

Our festival was founded to support and promote new independent short dance films and feature length dance films from around the world. We aim to provide exposure to these films and organize three nights of phenomenal dance cinematography, reflecting the diversity within the dance film genre. We showcase films that exude an originality and mission from filmmakers representing a broad spectrum of the art of dance.

The Contact Dance Film Festival occurs once a year as part of the BodyVox season. Films are screened in the 180 seat BodyVox Dance Center Theater.

BodyVox is an internationally touring contemporary dance company based in Portland, Oregon that has made numerous short films, winning multiple international awards
