Colleen Loverde

Teacher

Colleen Loverde is a graduate of Point Park University where she earned her B.F.A. in Jazz and Modern dance. After university, Colleen danced with Patrick O’Brien Dance Collective in NYC, relocated to Portland to dance with Northwest Dance Project for two seasons and currently dances with Post:Ballet and Shaun Keylock Company.In addition to her performing experience, Colleen takes pride in her work as a dance instructor. She has taught at Denise Sabala Dance Studio, Pittsburgh CLO, Northwest Dance Project, NWDP Summer Dance Intensive and Open Doors Dance Festival. Colleen’s classes emphasize an active awareness of alignment, focus, and continuous expansion of the body’s expression. She is passionate about the connections between all things and thus the importance of an open and curious mind for artistic and human development.


In addition to teaching dance, she worked as a personal trainer in Brooklyn, NY, she is currently pursuing her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification through the Yoga Alliance and she volunteers with Dance Artist’s National Collective in efforts to cultivate more equitable working environments in the dance industry.
