Absolute Beginning Ballet with Heather Jackson
If you have never studied ballet before, or maybe it's been many years, this is the class for you. Developed for beginning adult dancers, Absolute Beginning Ballet focuses on the basic movements and foundations of ballet technique. This session will be a perfect refresher for those who have taken class before or as a great jumpstart for the complete beginner. Click here to register.
Beginning Aerial with Daniel Kirk
Learn the fundamentals of aerial dance on a single-pickpoint, low hung trapeze! Taught by BodyVox Associate Artistic Director, Daniel Kirk, this class is for movers with solid dance foundation and no acute shoulder and/or back injuries. Beginning Hip Hop with Jonathan Sadony
Join Jonathan Sadony in the studio for this exciting Hip Hop Series class. Jonathan's class is an upbeat and energetic choreography-based class for all levels with focus on isolation, style, and rhythm. This is a beginner class and will build through the 10 week series. Click here to register.
Beginning Modern with Anna Hooper
Taught by Anna Hooper, the Beginning Modern Series will address the fundamentals of modern dance. Students will learn about the different techniques codified by modern dance choreographers Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham, and José Limón. Students will utilize their spine with awareness and ease, access freedom of expression, while being challenged with syncopation and level changes. Click here to register.
Tease with Theresa Hanson
A burlesque-style jazz class for the intermediate level dancer taught by BodyVox company dancer, Theresa Hanson. This class will consist of a moderate jazz warm-up in center, a brief across the floor section, then the majority of time spent learning low-intensity choreography. Please note, although this will be a “burlesque-style” class, no one will be removing any clothing. Click here to register.

Improvisation Jam with Sal Bonilla
Led by BodyVox company dancer, Salvatore Bonilla, Monday night Improvisation Jam is a time to come together and explore the possibilities of movement that live within our bodies. Sal will guide participants through a brief warm up, eventually easing into improvisational prompts that he will verbally guide. Sal invites anyone and everyone to come to move, groove, jam and have a good vibin' time. Starting on June 6 - this is an open class you can sign up for here.
The Bodyvox Dance Center serves as an important regional hub for dance innovation, education, and creativity. Home to Portland's world renowned dance company, BodyVox, the Dance Center maintains a performance training program (the Junior Artist Generator Program, or JAG), as well as daily classes for teens and adults. Taught by an exceptional roster of professional dancers and teaching artists, BodyVox provides instruction in multidisciplinary dance styles including ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, improvisation, hip hop, and dance based fitness classes.
